I live with one

A balancing act

We sleep next to each other

but rarely together

delicate ecosystem

And I think

he loves me

sometimes.

I talk to another

A tightrope

He calls so frequently

To tell me that he cares

his voice echoes in hallways

at night

He wishes on stars

that he could be here

sleeping next to me

And I think

he loves me

sometimes

I fuck one

ferris wheel swirl

Sleeping has never been a option

secret rendevous

unheard and unknown

calamine soothe

I have a man and he has a woman

And I think

he might love me

sometimes

But every night no matter who no matter where I dream of you and wish that

I could

live curled in your arms

never as your friend again

and I wonder if you know that I love you all of the time and I’d trade every other one of them

all for a chance

to sleep next to you

and together.
