When the deepest part
of the darkest sea
rides the wind into the sky
and in a split second swirl
plummets down in a bulbous wave
crashing with the full force of gravity
onto the abandoned beach
drenching anything
not already drowned
not already drowned
I feel like the tiniest
sand grain lifted up high
and dropped way down
out of control, seasick, lost, misfit
flying toward the ground
when I don’t talk to you
for a while.
