A windy spring day evolves
Early evening Eastern Standard Time
Sunglasses and car keys on the table
Sweet smelling heated oil freshening the room
Synthetic flowers in potted planters
A wallet full of receipts and an Il Giglietto from an Italian trip a year ago
A work day ended, a second of solitude
A peace and quiet at present which forces the mind to
Unravel liked slipped off sweaters and earrings
A warmed sofa seat cushion heavy from a body
Reminiscing over a cold beer everything done wrong
Leaning on a pillow and sighing, grateful how
All those accidents, errors and mistakes carefully
Carved out a beautifully broken yet resilient individual
Taking a moment to reflect on what to give up next
So she too can evolve like the season.
