Aimless

I sip chianti in Tuscany
get tattoos no one can decipher
Take road trips with no destination
Smile like your average liar
Run through lawn sprinklers in heels
Play Black Jack at the Bellagio
And yet I’m unfulfilled
Traveling without you to and fro
Because I know, I know, I know
If I let you go, you go, you go
I gotta become a better woman-So I waste all of my time wishing
For something that will never come true
That every magical thing I spend life doing
I’m doing those things with you
I know I’m not who you wanted
you’ve made that pretty plain
Why can’t I race the setting sun to bed
Without whispering your name
Because I know, I know, I know

If I let you go, you go, you go
I gotta live in the moment-How come every photo that I take
When I’m at the pool or in Greece
Seems empty and gray unless you’re in it
Lying smiles directly at me
I feel so foolish and so desperate
What I am I holding on to
I’ve never even been in a relationship
with the human version of you
Because I know, I know, I know

If I let you go, you go, you go
I gotta stop making excuses-But somehow everywhere that matters
Is where I want you to be
I ride horses in Nevada

On a plane I learned basic Tai Chi
I cry looking out bay windows
Missing a memory only my mind can see
I pack and leave just to avoid knowing
You’ve never been in love with me…
