At the Top



Anytime I’m satisfied 

anytime I have achieved something I set out to achieve

anytime I am content 

calm 

at peace and there’s no one for me to tell that I feel that way 

anytime advertisements demonstrate how beautiful and floral a group of humans laughing together look on a screen 

anytime I’m having a wonderful festivity for myself at home when others who didn’t really need to be invited also decided that they didn’t really need to be present

anytime someone has to choose between anything else in the world to do and spending time with me when a text alone would do 

In all of these instances 

and probably only in these instances

have I genuinely felt

Loneliness
